After a month full of negotiations, United & Sporting finally agreed on the following add on clauses:

  1. €5m for a set number of appearances

2. €5m for Champions League qualification

3. €15m for individual achievements and 10% from any future sale.

Bruno Fernandes Saga: The Story

United had to take this route after Sporting decided to increase the price of their captain, seeing the opportunity. With United desperately in need of a midfielder and no one else available in the market, Sporting started demanding €80 Mil for their captain.

According to reports, Sporting decided to accept the deal, once Barcelona had entered the market to acquire the Portuguese’s signature.

Which only leaves with one possible reality, that Barcelona’s deal was much less compared to United, and had United gotten an idea of what it was, the ball would have once again been in United’s court. And negotiations would have gotten difficult for cash craving Sporting Lisbon.

Whatever the condition may have been, United have finally managed to secure a much needed creative midfielder in Bruno.

Goal Machine? The stats say it all

Bruno plays a creative midfielder and has an eye for the goal as well as a pass. He has already managed to score 15 and assist 14 goals this season in just 28 appearances.

Bruno has a very good long shot off on his right foot

Whereas he managed to be involved in 50 goals from 53 appearances last season. Scoring 32 and assisting 18 in all competitions.

How could United line up with Bruno?

With United’s no 10’s Lingard and Periera not being up to the mark, he should slide right into the spot. And help tie up our front 3 with some great balls in.

Or maybe he could be used as a more conservative Box-to-box midfielder as well. And with his excellent vision and a rocket of a long shot, he could also free up the free-roaming role Pogba has been craving ever since he got here.

With Pogba out injured, Bruno could feel in his creative role until he comes back.

It will be interesting to see how Ole line’s up the squad with Bruno and Pogba both in the team. We are really excited to see him wear the red shirt on!
