Jadon Sancho has been number one target for Manchester United. United have been following the English man since last summer.
The 20 year old has impressed everyone after two extra-ordinary seasons with Bundesliga’s Dortmund. This season, 2019-20, Jadon Sancho has 17 goals and 16 assists for Dortmund in Bundesliga with just 25 starts.

Recent Rumors :
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United are adamant that they won’t pay more than £50m for Sancho. Manchester United feels that the price of the player (Sancho) should be cut-short (around £50m) due to recent Corona virus impact. The officials behind the scenes at Old Trafford believe Dortmund’s valuation does not sufficiently reflect the costly fallout from the coronavirus pandemic and must be cut substantially if a deal is to be reached.
However, in a recent interview Dortmund’s CEO made it pretty clear that they won’t reduce their price tag because of Corona virus. During the interview he said :
“There will not be a cent corona discount, we have clear ideas. If he wants to leave and a club meets the conditions? We will discuss this [if that happens].”Hans-Joachim Watzke (Borussia Dortmund CEO)
“If Jadon approaches us and says he wants to leave no matter what, which did not happen until now, and a club wants to spend what we demand, we will discuss it. But I don’t think there will be a club that pays the fee we want.”Hans-Joachim Watzke (Borussia Dortmund CEO)
However, Sky also mentioned that United are still in pole position for Jadon Sancho. They lead the race for the player, however there hasn’t been any contact between the two clubs ( Manchester United and Dortmund). United will try to take advantage of Dortmund’s financial situation due to Corona virus pandemic. Dortmund announced to the German Stock Market that they will loose around £41m due to behind closed doors games.
Jude Bellingham’s role :
Both Manchester United and Dortmund seem favorites for Birmingham City’s Jude Bellingham. With the star kid about to choose between United and Dortmund in the coming weeks. Sky Sports believe that the clubs might agree for Sancho to head to Old Trafford and Bellingham to the Westfalenstadion. Dortmund are also risk at loosing Sancho at much lower price next season with only two years remaining on his contract.
Our View :
Sancho is a top talent and the price tag of £50m is simply an insult and it is pretty sure that these are just rumors and United rate him more than that. However, this can be a move from United to lower the asking price for the player. We’ve already seen such instances many times and this seems to be same. Apart from that Sky has lost its credibility after the introduction of Sky bets and there have been instances of them showing baseless transfers. We still would rate this 4/10.
