Manchester United play Chelsea in the FA cup semifinal on Sunday and Utd Arena are back with our opposition Talk. United have been in ferocious form and they will only look to win games now. Manchester United rose against the odds and made it to the semifinal at Wembley, a trophy would boost the morale of the squad especially silverware as precious as the FA Cup. Chelsea have a quality squad that must now be looking to win some trophies. Lampard would also love to grab the FA cup in the first season in-charge as Chelsea Manager. The game is equally important to both sides and it is going to be an exciting game especially considering that United and Chelsea compete with each other in the top 4 race. This time we have Chelsea Fanpage @thebluelion_1905 answering our questions for the matchup.

Q1. Chelsea are currently battling for Top 4 in the PL and the FA cup. Do you think a FA cup victory would boost the morale of the squad for the next season?

Definitely and it will demonstrate to our players that we deserve to be in the top 4 as we’ve already beaten Leicester, beating United would be a major boost.

Q2. Chelsea play Liverpool in their Next Premier League fixture. How should Lampard approach the FA cup semi final and the Liverpool game?

The thing about Chelsea is we don’t really have a best XI so I expect us to rotate our team to freshen up for the Liverpool game.

Q3. United have faced Chelsea twice in the Premier League and won both the games. What should Chelsea do differently that would make an impact?

I know we’ve lost to United twice in the Premier League and  depending on what system United play our game plan should vary. If United start a back 5 then we should match, which I doubt we will. We also have to isolate Bruno Fernandez and ensure we are defending as a unit. It is essential we start Giroud.

Q4. The current Chelsea Squad has been on a winning spree with a few negative performances. Do you think this game is an opportunity for any particular player?

If Giroud is rotated with Tammy Abraham, then he has something to prove and I expect Hudson-Odoi to feature. With Greenwood and Saka all showing their potential,I believe he needs to step up.

Q5. Chelsea have had several new signings, with Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech coming in. What do you think their impact would be on an already blooming squad?

Two world signings who can both be a role models to our younger players and they can be somewhat mentors as well.

Q6. What type of formation can we expect given the fact that you have injury in form of both Kante and Gilmour?

I expect a 433 with Jorginho being focal point of our Midfield.

United demolished Chelsea 4-0 at Old Trafford in their first fixture of the season.

Q7. How do you think Lampard had affected the mentality of the team this season?

At Chelsea, there has always been a mentality problem as and when we are down it’s hard to motivate us. Lampard has no doubt tried to eradicate that. Moreover with the young players, Lampard has introduced he has helped create a positive productive environment rather than the rather dull environment that was evident under Sarri.

Q8. Do you think a win against United will have a huge psychological impact on them in the race of top 4?

It will be absolutely crucial in terms of psychological impact because it will demonstrate to the players they deserve to be in the top 4.

Q9 .Which game would you like to say is more crucial given the fact that you face Liverpool in the PL which has a stiff Competition for Top 4 or A FA Cup tie against United which will take you a step closer to a trophy winning season?

As much I want to beat United and push for the FA cup, Top 4 has always been the priority and if you asked me whether I would take a win against United or a win against Liverpool, I would say Liverpool.

Chelsea may prove to be difficult Opponents for this particular FA cup semifinal especially. Still there are concerns in the tactical aspect, of how Lampard should set up Chelsea considering he hasn’t been successful against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The FA cup is an important trophy and both clubs are going to battle it out on the pitch. We once again thank @thebluelion_1905 for answering our questions in such detail. We all look forward to the game on Sunday. What do you think the scoreline is going to be?
