Manchester United begin their Premier League Season 2020/2021 against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. United start their season in game week 2 due to the requirement of a 30 day gap between season. Moreover, The Red Devils would want to start strong and make a statement. Further,United experimented a lot in the pre-season games and something interesting may be coming up. The board have not completed the necessary signings and there are concerns. The first fixture is definitely going to be a cracker. Here is all you need to know:
Crystal Palace are currently in an Injury crisis and the available squad looks shambolic. Moreover, they are without 3 of their key defenders namely: Gary Cahill, Patrick van Aanholt and James Tomkins. In the previous game against Bournemouth, Mamadou Sakho made a substitute appearance. Despite the appearance, he looks out of contention to play against United. Additionally, even Striker Christian Benteke just began training and he is unlikely to feature. Roy Hodgson will need to field a defensively weaker 11 due to constraints.
Manchester United will miss Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe as they recover from injury.
Frenchman Paul Pogba recovered from the coronavirus and he is set to play for the Red Devils. Other players available for selection include Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw after they suffered injuries. The only squad members that won’t likely feature are Chris Smalling and Rojo as they look for possible transfers.
Manchester United played Crystal Palace back in July this year. United comfortably won with 2 goals from Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to secured the victory. Even last time, Crystal Palace were without their 3 defenders.
Manchester United will win this considering that how weak the Crystal Palace side is. United just begin their campaign and it is only ideal that United fire on all cylinders. It seems like Ole would not want to experiment a lot and start strong. Moreover,Considering our new signing, Donny Van De Beek, it is obvious that United will not wait. We may see a few young players on the pitch though, such as Brandon Williams. I think United will earn a comfortable 3 goal win with a clean sheet.
